Your baggage on connecting flights
If you have one or more connections with different airlines, hand baggage rules may differ. We recommend consulting the websites of the companies concerned andfollowing the most restrictive rule throughout your journey.
You're traveling with a pet in the hold?
You must respect the conditions for transporting a cat or dog in the cabin of each airline with which you travel. Make sure you get the right information before your departure.
Important: If you are traveling to or have a connection in the United States, and are traveling in the Premium, Business, or La Première cabin, the transport of hand baggage is subject to the U.S. regulation by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
Our answers to your questions
You can purchase these items in the duty-free shops at the airport, after the security checkpoint. You can travel with them during your connection, so long as they are in the sealed security tamper-evident bag provided to you by the shop. Note that if you go to the public area of the connecting airport, you are no longer within the transit circuit. Even if these items are carried under seals, they will not be accepted by authorities during security checks to access the boarding gates again. If you need to change airport during your connection, we recommend that you either check in your sealed purchases or add them to the contents of your checked baggage.
